Trauma-Informed Strategies for Kids & Their Grown Ups
Service Description
September 13th at 9 AM - 12 PM PST Skill Level: Intermediate/Advanced Who Should Attend: Social Workers, Psychologists, Counselors , Marriage & Family Therapists, Other Mental Health Professionals Although it's desirable for parents to participate in their children's therapy sessions, they may not always be ready, willing or able to help their children after a traumatic event. In order to facilitate greater learning and healing between children and their parents, clinicians must consider working from the framework that children and their grown ups heal from trauma "better together." Come discover how to aid children and their grown ups unravel experiences of complex trauma together through the framework of EMDR therapy. Learning Objectives : -Describe psychoeducational interventions to prepare and engage children and their caregivers in EMDR. -Develop trauma-informed case conceptualizations using the EMDR treatment paradigm for children and their caregivers. -Explain assessment and engagement strategies with children and their caregivers during conjoint EMDR therapy sessions. Approved for 3 EMDRIA credits & CEs. Participants will receive instructions to obtain their CEs through Ce-Classes.com upon completion of the training. Licensed Professionals should contact their regulatory board to determine course approval. There are no known conflicts of interests for this workshop.
