Hi, I’m Monica Starovic, M.Ed., LPC.
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with more than 26 years of experience supporting children, adolescents, and families. Before opening my private practice, Waller Oaks Counseling, I spent many years working as both a teacher and professional school counselor, which provided me with a deep understanding of the academic, social, emotional, and developmental challenges that children and teens face.
I specialize in working with children, adolescents, and adults experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, ADHD, autism spectrum disorder, grief, and life transitions. I am passionate about helping young people build emotional regulation skills, strengthen self-confidence, develop healthy coping strategies, and discover their unique strengths.
My approach to therapy is warm, collaborative, and trauma-informed. I utilize evidence-based interventions including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), mindfulness practices, play-based interventions, and animal-assisted therapy. My therapy dog, Dakota, often helps create a welcoming and supportive environment where clients feel safe and comfortable.
I believe that healing happens through connection, compassion, and a strong therapeutic relationship. My goal is to provide a space where children, teens, and families feel heard, understood, and empowered as they work toward meaningful growth and lasting change.
I am licensed in Texas and Colorado and provide both in-person and virtual therapy services. I look forward to supporting you and your family on your journey toward healing and wellness.
