Born and raised in Southern California, I grew up in the warm desert. I am part of a large close knit family that I often spends time with. All throughout my childhood, I played sports including soccer, tennis, and volleyball. With my active, involved background, I grew up appreciating the importance of relationships. My upbringing has molded me and pushed me toward my passion for helping others.
In 2017, I made the decision to move away from the desert to Long Beach, CA to pursue my dreams of becoming a Marriage and Family Therapist. I began my coursework in August 2017 toward my Masters of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy degree. After a few short years and many hours of practice in therapy, I received my degree in December 2019. Once my time at school was completed, I decided to accept a position as a clinician in Big Bear Lake, CA with Lutheran Social Services of Southern California. While employed with LSSSC, I obtained a wide range of experience working with those in community mental health.
Upon years of treating a clientele with trauma, I was driven to find a better way to further support my clients struggling with symptoms of trauma. This sparked my interest in EMDR therapy. Quickly, I signed up for a three-weekend EMDR training course and instantly was intrigued. I felt that I had finally found the expertise that my clients needed to swiftly move toward healing.
My goal is to provide a space where you can release your pain, reprocess traumatic memories, develop new perspectives, and feel heard. I plan to collaborate with you to rediscover inner strengths, find solutions, and rid dysfunctional patterns. With time and exploration, I hope to help you surpass the feeling of being stuck or overwhelmed by disturbing images, negative beliefs, and/or uncomfortable sensations in the body. I will work with you to expand your set of tools that can be used to navigate any obstacles.
In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my husband, children, family, and friends. I love time spent outdoors walking, playing soccer and tennis, hiking, and gardening. I have recently found interest in trying out new recipes while cooking and baking. I like to incorporate exercise, meditation, and other self-care activities into my daily life.
