I have over 20 years of experience as a social worker and several years of experience providing therapy to children, adolescents, and adults. My work is grounded in attachment-informed, trauma-focused care, with a special interest in helping children heal from difficult experiences and build healthier connections with themselves and others.
I have completed EMDR training and continue to pursue advanced education, consultation, and professional development in the use of EMDR with children and adolescents. My approach integrates EMDR with attachment-focused interventions, play-based techniques, creative expression, and developmental considerations to meet children where they are emotionally and developmentally.
I believe children often communicate and process experiences through play, imagination, relationships, and sensory experiences rather than words alone. By combining EMDR with child-centered and developmentally appropriate interventions, I help children strengthen emotional regulation, build resilience, develop a more positive sense of self, and work through experiences that may be contributing to current challenges.
My clinical experience includes working with children and families impacted by trauma, attachment disruptions, anxiety, behavioral concerns, foster care and adoption-related challenges, grief and loss, and life transitions. I also draw from training in attachment-focused approaches, including PACE, to support children and caregivers in strengthening connection and creating a greater sense of safety.
I am committed to ongoing learning and regularly participate in consultation and continuing education to deepen my skills and ensure that the care I provide reflects current best practices. My goal is to create a warm, supportive environment where children feel understood, empowered, and equipped to move toward healing and growth at their own pace.
